The best thing in freshman year!

Freshman year was by far the best year of my school life so far. I made tons of new friends and kept the old ones. The most memorable thing would probably have to be the classes I had with all of my friends. Like Corinne, Ale, Ebony, Tyler, Rayshawn, Danny, Sara, and Melody:) They're all amazing! Haha. Anyways, back to freshman year! I loved it because it was quite easy, and entertaining. We had a lot of funny moments in our classes, and it was hilarious. I will definitely miss this year, plus I won't be coming back to this school for sophomore year. That sucks:( But I would truly say that freshman year was fun, easy, and totally worth. I learned tons of new things in all of my classes, and i'll remember it. My favorite class was World Studies because I absolutely love historical things! Another one of my favorites is Spanish, because I actually know how to speak some spanish, and it was the funniest class ever! I will miss this year, and I will hopefully try to come and visit every once in a while!

Animal Farm

In english class we just got done reading an amazing book called Animal Farm" It was about animals who decide to revolt against the farmer Mr. Jones. This book was amazing and I loved it. It is suppose to be based on something that happened in real life history. The russian revolution. Each animal is supposed to represent a historical figure in the russian revolution. For example, Old Major is suppose to be Karl Marx an Vladimir Lennin. Napolean is suppose to be Stalin. This book is a very interesting book and really shows the relation between animals and human beings. I would recommend this book to high school students or middle school students because even though it has a childish title, it is most definitely not a children's book. You should try to make time and read this book.

Unfair and in control!

Have you ever been treated unfairly when you are the one doing all the work? How about doing no work at all and still getting the wrong treatment? Lots of people, and even animals have had just that happen to them and are still being treated wrongly to this day. There is a quite interesting book called Animal Farm that I am reading in my English class, that's about unfairness towards animals. The animals are finally done putting up with it and decide to revolt. I've had some experiences in my life to know exactly how those animals feel. For example, I'm the oldest of my siblings, and sometimes I feel like I'm being mistreated, and I feel like it's unfair. When I want to go somewhere for the weekend, my mom sometimes says no but then lets my brother go wherever. Another reason, being treated differently by my old teachers. I turned in my work, I spent most of my time being a good student, but I felt like they would still never treat me the same. In the book Animal Farm, we've only gotten to chapter two, but a lot of stuff actually happens in those brief chapters. The animals have had enough mistreatment and have a meeting on how their lives are at the farm, and if they continue to let the farmer control them, how their lives will still be. If you continue to let people control you in a unfair, mistreated, and misjudged way, then you may have a miserable life ahead of you. Nobody wants to have a life that is being controlled by someone else besides yourself. So I encourage you to stand up and say no to unfair control!

What holds the most power in your life?

If I were to tell you that my mom or a younger sibling holds the most power in my life, I would probably be not telling the truth. My family members, like my brother, sister or younger relatives, and some of my "friends" do not really have that much power in my life because it's my life and I can do whatever I want. Well, not really everything but mostly everything. I would have to say that my grandma and my boyfriend have power of my life. They are the ones who care about what happens to me and are there for me through everything. My grandma has been with me ever since I was born. If I want to go somewhere or if I want something, she pretty much interogates me and questions me on everything. But I'm okay with it because she still lets me go where I wanted or get what I wanted(I'm not spoiled.) My boyfriend because he also does the same thing for me but not physically or verbally. He's not a mean person at all, but is very over protective. He cares about all the decisions I make and is willing to be there with me through the consequences. People may have different people in their lives who have power of them, but those two people I feel have the most influencing power in my life. Now I'm not saying that my mom or dad does not have power of me because of course they do. I mean they're my mom and dad. But My grandma and boyfriend are way up there. My grandma and Boyfriend are the ones that have the most power in my life because they are very influencing and protective of the person they love and care about a lot.

Why Do people stay in abusive relationships?

Period 2

1/7/10

A lot of people today mostly women have been in or is in an abusive relationship currently. I have had some family members and friends that have been in an abusive relationship and were very smart about getting out of it.

While some people argue the biggest reason for people staying in abusive relationships is because the other person is scared, but the most important factor contributing to this is that they don’t want to break up with each other.

Most of us would say that people (usually girls) stay in abusive relationships because they are scared to leave, or they think if they try to leave, then they will get hurt even worse. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense, but it's not the real reason why. Some girls probably end up dead because they tried to leave.

Another possible reason for staying in abusive relationships is that they’re trapped because they have kids together or are going to have kids, and you really don’t want your child growing up without a mother or father. So you think, “hey, my kid(s) is/are going to have a perfect family, so I’m going to stay with the father that abuses me so my kid can have just that.” Well, if I was in that situation it would be hard to leave especially if I’ve been with the person with a long time of course, but I wouldn’t be able to stay. And a normal person, if that’s what you would call it, wouldn’t either. I'm not trying to be all mean about this but you shouldn't be with someone who hurts you day after day because they want to control you. Those are two other possible and true reasons why most people want to stay in an abusive relationship.

The most important reason for being in an abusive relationship, is one person or both of them do not want to leave each other. For example, they might think they’re in love. Therefore, they convince themselves that they will never find someone like let’s say their boyfriend. A lot of people can be in love, but if your spouse is hurting you emotionally, physically, and mentally then you’re definitely not in love for sure. You shouldn’t have to stay with a person who does not love you or care about how you feel. There’s a whole bunch of fish in the sea to choose from, not just the one you’re with.

This issue has been very important in the past and now because this problem happens a lot within the world. Go anywhere around the world and I bet that this same problem may be going on. Abuse towards people, animals, nature, even themselves are happening now and if your tired of it then stand up for what's right. All the other possible reasons that I listed were all very true and very important, but the biggest explanation for being in an abusive relationship is people don’t want to break up with each other or leave.

Why are there problems with co-exsistence between wolves and humans at Yellowstone National Park?

See how peaceful wolves can actually be!

There have been a few problems between wolves and humans at Yellowstone National Park for the past couple of years, and I'm blogging about this topic so I can find out why. Well, for some odd reason people think that wolves are the top predators at the park. Do you know what they did to the wolves when they caught them? They killed them. Some in a brutal and crucial way. I don't know about your opinion but I have to be on the wolves side because it is their land for the most part and we came in and took that from them. I know wolves can be dangerous but seriously, come on people. who kills a wolf? Well, apparently they do. They give the excuse to kill wolves because "They threaten human safety" Okay, well it's obvious that we are going into their territory so of course they'll feel threatned, they're not just going to let you come in and do what you want. They are also killing all of the wildlife, well they have to in order to live right? It's going to be the wolf killers fault to cause the extinction of wolves. Wolves are really fascinating to me and if they go extinct because people feel it's right to kill them, then there will be no more wolves to learn about. So my opinion is that the wolves shouldn't have to worry about their safety or their young's safety everyday of their life. But the good thing is that they are finally leaving the wolves alone for a little bit and the wolves can finally live in peace, without doubt or worry.

WHAT IS JUDAISM?

Just to let everyone know that The Star of David is not a negative symbol!

INTRO:
What is Judaism? Judaism is one of the world's largest religions today. It has a total of 14 million people who identify themselves as jewish.

FOUNDER:
Judaism was founded by a man named Abraham, who was actually desended from Noah, and was sent by god.

DATE AND PLACE FOUNDED: It was founded in Mesopotamia c. 1300 BC. Some major places that has judaism is found are Israel, Europe, And the U.S.A.

HOLY BOOKS/TEXTS: They have a couple important holy books, but one main one, The Tanakh with the Talmud.

RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS: Some religious holidays of theirs is Rosh Hash Anqh: (Jewish New Year), Yom Kippur: (Day of Atonement), Sukkot: (Festivals of Booths), Hannukah, Tu B'Shevat: (New Year of trees), Purim, and Pesach: (passover.) Wow those are a lot of confusing names for those holidays!! For example, Sukkot, or Festival of Booths, is where they celebrate feasting. Just like how we celebrate Thanksgiving.

RITUALS AND CUSTOMS: They also have rituals and customs like the Birth and Naming Ceremonies, Brit Nilah (which means circumsision,) Redemption of the Firstborn, Coming of Age, Jewish Marriage, Divorce, Death Rituals, and Mourning.

DRESS AND CLOTHING STYLE: What they wear are long sidelocks, and black clothing. Men are not allowed to shave or trim their beards. It is not permitted. Women must, like other religions cover up their bodies.

HIERARCHY/ORGANIZATION: The hierarchy or organization of the social life is based on your home life. First comes the Rabbis'(they are religious teachers), then the High Priest(someone who is the highest reverend), and after that the Sanhedrin(are a group of judges), and probably peasants and such. Judaism is actually a cool and interesting religion to me and I wish I could've found out just a little more! I'm going to give you this link ("http://www.religionfacts.com) so you can do some research and learn a little more about Judaism.
